NovaStreak culture device is a novel method for transport, isolation, screening and direct identification of microbial contamination in food, work surfaces and other materials of sanitary importance with no sample dilution.
Traditional standard method of detection of microbial contamination requires the sampling and further transportation of the sample to the lab, spreading of a small volume of sample onto the surface of various types of prepared culture media by trained technicians and then incubation of the media at a constant temperature and humidity for up to 5 days.
The total extra-cost of traditional standard method includes:
• expensive, skilled personnel for inoculation,
• transportation of specimens to the laboratory under special conditions (refrigeration)
• time-consuming preparing the different types of culture media.
Advantages:
• simple, rapid and handy
• immediate media inoculation at the site of collection
• perfect alternative to conventional collection and culturing of samples
• the unique sample streaking mechanism emulates the methodology of traditional Petri dish culture techniques
• sample collection and inoculation can be done by unskilled personnel
• two different agar media are attached back-to-back on a central paddle support
• discreet streaking of the sample over each agar surface
NovaStreak is successfully used in the middle-size and small pharmaceutical, food & dairy, biological, medical and agricultural industries which can afford their own laboratory but can’t buy the expensive equipment. It is suitable for companies that provide analytical and microbiological laboratory services, in scientific research, environmental control and in the different catering & food consulting agencies
